Obtainable in crystalline or powdered (white, beige, pink) form or in tablet form as capsules.

Speed is usually snorted or swallowed, more rarely injected or smoked.

Amphetamine has been/is used in medicine, for example as an appetite suppressant, and as a treatment for asthma and hyperactivity.

Effects

Has a stimulant effect similar to that of adrenalin, naturally produced in the body.
When Speed is snorted, the drug takes effect after approximately 10-20 minutes, if swallowed, it takes effect after 30-45 minutes and if injected, after a few seconds.

Duration of effects: 6 to 12 hours (amphetamine) or up to 30 hours (methamphetamine -> see leaflet on Crystal).

Possible effects: increased performance, increased willingness to take risks, suppressed hunger and need for sleep, suppressed sensitivity to pain. A sense of well-being, contentedness, relaxation, euphoria, compulsion to talk, increased alertness and increased self-confidence are also possible. Speed is effective even in small quantities. The effect depends, among other things, on the duration of consumption, the dose, purity and the expectations of the user.

Short-term side effects

Trembling, restlessness, disturbed sleep, increased pulse and blood pressure, increased body temperature, widened pupils, nervousness, irritability and loss of appetite. Anxiety, feelings of paranoia (e.g. persecution complex), burning of the nasal mucous membranes when the drug is snorted, headaches, nausea, stomach-ache and convulsions are also possible.

When the effects wear off, extreme exhaustion, depression, lack of concentration, a great desire to sleep and ravenous hunger may occur. These side effects may last for several days.

Long-term side effects

When the drug is snorted, the nasal mucous membranes and the nasal septum may be damaged, as may the gastric mucous membranes when the drug is swallowed. Constant restlessness, sleep and circulatory disorders, paranoia and even amphetamine psychosis may occur. Weight loss (due to suppression of hunger and increased energy consumption), inflammation of the skin (Speed rash) and stomach-aches are also possible.
Menstruation may be affected in women.

With regular use: development of tolerance and onset of addiction, i.e. the dose has to be increased in order to achieve the same effect. The development of psychological dependency is possible.

Interaction with other drugs

Speed and ecstasy: Speed "kills" the ecstasy effect!

Speed and cannabis: may lead to extreme circulatory disorders!

Speed and alcohol: you won't be able to judge how much alcohol you have drunk. Alcohol poisoning is possible!

Speed and tranquillisers: an extreme adverse effect on the circulation - circulatory collapse possible!

Safer Use

People with psychological disorders, heart and circulatory problems, liver and kidney disorders or diabetes, or pregnant women should not take Speed!

Take a low dose! Overdose can be reached very quickly due to the extreme variations in concentration of the active ingredient! If you take too high a dose, take Vitamin C!

Do not mix with other substances and take breaks between use of the drug.

If you snort, take care of your nose. After each use, wash out the nose with 1 spoonful of sea salt in ¼ litre of warm water, and use a salve regularly. Chop Speed powder as small as possible, as the larger the crystals, the more damage their sharp edges do to your nasal mucous membranes!

Take precautions against calcium deficiency (bananas, tomatoes, peanuts, milk) and ensure sufficient liquid intake (alcohol free drinks).

After consumption, eat some food in order to prevent weight loss.

Take a generous recovery break!

Driving is dangerous under the influence of Speed.
